Does it? What is life? When the foetus is viable outside the mother? When the soul enters the body? Which isn't necessarily at birth - could be earlier, could be later.

We are created in the image of God. Life begins at conception. It doesnтАЩt magically change from a foetus to a human being. It is always a human being. We are born with souls because we are made in the image of our Creator God.
That is your opinion, not a fact. You cannot base law on religious / spiritual opinions. I think the change in the law is abhorrent (obviously! Who are these demons in parliament sanctioning infanticide? (Note that this is also legal in some US States). The law as it used to be was at least rooted in the FACT of the viability of the foetus. Personally, I think the limit should be LOWER given the availability of the morning after pill and contraception However, there should be some window of opportunity very early on.
The idea that infanticide is now not a crime in this country is so overwhelmingly evil that, for me, this government and the people in it have crossed a moral line that means I consider the social contract well and truly broken and the law of England & Wales is now simply a tool of amoral tyrants. Those of us who wish to rebel against this need to establish a Non-Cooperation movement after GandhiтАЩs model.
In Australia we have the laws changed from early abortion to abortion up to birth. Babies are surviving abortion and being born alive and the cretins that call themselves the governments across Australia cannot even bring themselves to support a baby born alive bill which would guarantee care for the child. Nurses are heartbroken and devastated. One was found in a bin alive.
The above illustrates that while seems fine to take the life of a baby, the human cost to the medical staff is horrendous. Abby Johnson ( And then there were non) in the US made a movie called тАШUnplannedтАЩ . It was about the abortion industry in the US under Planned Parenthood. Abby was recruited to work for them to persuade young women to abort their babies. She actually had to assist and saw a little baby swimming away from the instrument as it entered the birth sac and left never to work for them again. The segment in the movie where the baby tries to swim away is in my memory forever.

Contemplate your own existence.
"Go... do likewise..." as a certain sage once said.

That is horrendous ЁЯШв
It is.
Define life
You frightened of dying? Start there.
Interesting definition. It would exclude a one week old baby.
