Laura,

An excellent piece! One point no one ever seems to mention, which should floor the opposition is that 'gender ' is not just or even an idea, it is simply and merely a grammatical term, no more nor less. Some people confuse the simplest of matters by trying to be clever( and failing.)

Spot on. There's another great essay here and the comments are equally enlightening: https://www.spiked-online.com/2025/04/17/the-hilarious-meltdown-of-men-who-think-theyre-women/?section=comments

Absolutely on the money. Language should never be squandered on the alter of fashion or fad.

A society cannot exist in harmony without clear boundaries that provide safety, security and unity. Facts may not always be palatable but so what ? Maybe if some of those blue haired megaphone blowers listened and took a step back from victimhood, maybe, just maybe, they would realise that we are all served under the Equality Act, in equal proportion.

Some will grow up and be ok - and then there will be some who will flit from one no cause to another without adding to or taking from any sense of progression and learning.

Though I can't help feeling that the Equality Act encourages those very "blue haired megaphone blowers" by implying that some of us are more equal than others...

Thanks Laura, a simple thing to say but it is well meant. I am a normal kind of a bloke, very probably toxically masculine, who knows. Who cares, I don't.

It is people such as yourself, J K Rowling, Graham Linehan and others, you know, those pepes slightly adrift from the common herd, who give me a degree of: " thank Christ there are some sane buggers out there because there are sure a lot of screeching tossers making their presence felt" type of feeling.

If anyone wants to know I self identify as Keef Richards missing guitar string and my personal pronouns are shagnasty and tosspot.

I can only apologise for the above. It's the London Dry Gin and not much tonic talking but the thanks are sincere; it's just nice to know I ain't alone.

Laura - I think we are in a epidemic of psychic epidemics. Covid, of course, and there's a case for Climate Change as one. The deranged assault on free speech. Next?

On Gender. Yup, it's imaginary, a fantasy even. And suddenly, we find said fantasy with legal protection, result perving - paraphilia, autogynephilia - legitimised. Nuts. Deranged. That the Supreme Court had to confirm reality is in itself alarming.

Kudos to you and all those fighting the good fight. A good Easter, one might say that not only is Christ rising from the grave, but the female sex as well.

Hallelujah!!

Good point Jeremy. Could it be that the trans movement was just another establishment conspiracy to confuse, demoralise and befuddle the general public, Machiavellian scheming to “divide and conquer”? Could it be they knew this particular game was up when Trump got re-elected? Douglas, yes indeed. We have witnessed what seems to be a coordinated assault from all sides - govts, WEF, WHO, Gates and co. on all we hold dear, in many forms. The grotesque and evil (in the biblical sense) sexualisation or children (and the media), family. Covid a part of this - it was never even an epidemic. As a Christian I see this as evil stalking the world. We must all stand up and fight the good fight (with all our might!) and SHOUT truth to power.

As my dear old Mum used to say

"Up with this I will not put"

Happy Easter

Christ is risen

Oh yes, the assault on Christianity too along side the appeasement of Islam, which is coming for us in the knowledge that we no longer believe, no longer share a common culture, whilst Islam DOES believe. We are in big trouble unless we unite.

Thanks for this article, Laura, and for your ongoing commitment to the truth. I reflect that when it came to the crucifixion, it wasn't even necessarily "the mob" that got it done but a small crowd of malicious "influencers". In the same way, our present society is disproportionately directed by fringe voices of malicious, delusional and selfish intent. If we are to reclaim what is ours then we need more decent, ordinary people to speak out on behalf of what is...well... decent and ordinary! Like those who brought the recent case to the Supreme Court. The fringe must be put firmly back where it belongs.

Hi Laura,

Really good article.

I have been subscribing since reading 'Free your Mind'

Trying to get my friends to read it as well.

If you want an example of madness, witness what it happening in London this afternoon.

It is so sad, these deluded people.

Hopefully they will get better!

Although the SC has been admirably clear that man and woman, male and female, have only their obvious biological based meanings (for which Rejoice!), we must remember that we still have the ludicrous Gender Recognition Act 2004 on the Statute Book, which creates what the SC described as “certificated” men and women as opposed to real, aka biological, men and women.

It was this absurd Act which provided the basis for the Gender Activists to argue that the EA meaning of sex should included certificated men and women in addition to real ones. In other words the State has given, and continues to give, official recognition to the fantasy of changed sex “for all purposes” other than certain exceptions. The State still endorses gender ideology.

Notwithstanding that we are a huge way forward as compared with a week ago, reality and sanity will not properly be restored until this Act (in my view the most egregiously moronic Act ever put on the Statute Book) is repealed and every GRC issued to date is revoked. That is the next battle.

Christ is risen. He is risen indeed. Happy Easter, Laura.

It was indeed a wonderful judgement but we still have the equivalent of your Tory party’s leader refusing to define a woman and saying it was a matter for the British courts. We have the most incompetent government in history in power with deeply held levels of dissatisfaction and the opposition leader cannot speak the truth. Truth matters and it is a reflection on how cowardly leadership is that there needed to be a judgement from a court to state the bleeding g obvious.

This is a debunking of a meme that was popular about ten years ago. Many readers are probably familiar with it. About what true leadership looks like as exhibited by a pack of wolves:

https://factcheck.afp.com/sick-wolves-dont-lead-pack-and-leader-isnt-last-line

It's false. A fiction. A pack of wolves would be led to their demise if what was depicted in this meme was true. That reality was ignored by those who shared the meme. Even when presented with the evidence they would say "I don't care, it's how I wish it was, it would be a better world."

No, it wouldn't. It's contrary to nature. That which is contrary to nature cannot survive, at least not very long.

I rather suspect that the meme was an example of psychological priming. Conditioning people to accept rule by the weak who would lead them to their own demise. If another pack of wolves was so cunning or another predator/competitor to the pack in question was so cunning they would install the weakest leaders of their rivals. And take full advantage of the situation. All sorts of metaphors to what's happened in our nations, the western liberal democracies that flow from the metaphor. It's almost like our leaders want to replace our system of governance to something much different...maybe...like China's authoritarian collective? So our weak (chosen) leaders are suiciding the pack? It would be an Art of War tactic that China and other powers know about.

I explored this more in my "Foxes Know Wolves" stack in 2022:

Of course it was ridiculous to pretend that a man can be a woman (or vv) and stupid beyond belief that it required the Supreme Court to tell us this BUT sometimes having pronouns does help. For example I have communicated by email with people with non-British names; sometimes I have to guess as to whether they are a man or a woman.

And of course with all these deluded people changing their name from Steve to Stephanie or whatever it might still be useful but ONLY If they are honest about their real pronoun, and, of course, they won't be.

In the olden days we'd just put Mr or Mrs or Miss or whatever after our name to indicate our sex and remove any doubt.

Absolutely splendid stuff……one minor quibble……I suggest three words be added to your preamble.

“ I've long been suspicious of people who add pronouns to their bios. This suspicion stems from two simple, if unflattering, possibilities. Either they genuinely believe in gender ideology, which does not speak highly of their reasoning powers, or they do not believe in it and are simply pretending, which does not speak highly of their courage……OR THEIR INTEGRITY”
