Love and Hate on Twitter
Should I call time on a toxic relationship and give X the bird?
I used to love Twitter. Alliances and social movements were launched with a single ‘@'. We made new friends, tweeted our heroes directly and whispered sweet nothings in an ever-cascading timeline before bed. Wisdom chirruped around the world in 140 character capsules. News was delivered at lightning speed by people you liked and trusted. I crowdfunded my first book thanks to Twitter and Facebook. It was useful, fun, free and full of possibility.
Have you ever been in a love relationship that turned toxic? After it turns bitter, there is still enough of the original attraction to fool you into thinking that everything will be okay, but deep down you know it’s going to end badly. Addicted to the good and the bad, you’re co-dependant and getting sicker by the day.
