Yesterday, HM Treasury announced on Twitter: ‘BREAKING NEWS: Spring Budget WhatsApp Files leaked. Share the scoop with your friends & family on WhatsApp’.

What high jinks. What a jest. Yes, the Telegraphs’s scoop of the century, the Lockdown Files has become the butt of a Treasury joke. A jolly game.

But it might not be the game you think it is.
